mountain kencana is located in the District cisarua, Bogor city. Mount kencana opened to the public around the beginning of 2016, mountain kencana is not a mountain, actually mount kencana is just a hill that towering to the height of 1,802 mdpl (meters below sea level). But the mountain kencana still offers a natural sensation for the climbers.
Access to the top of Gunung Kencana can be through Telaga Warna, Cisarua. Before making the climb, visitors must report on a particular post to get a climbing permit. Based on my experience, climbers must do 2 times report. First at the entrance Telaga Warna tourist area with a cost of Rp 25,000 / person and second right at the post climbing the beginning of Gunung Kencana Rp 20.000.
After reporting on the Telaga Warna tourist area post you can continue your journey to the LC (Lahan Cadangan) village which is the last point of the stop of the vehicle before entering the mountain climbing route. If you do not bring a private vehicle you can call the motorcycle taxi on the post Telaga Warna tourist area with a cost of Rp 100,000. Mileage from the post Telaga Warna tourist area until the village LC about 7km which will take about 90 minutes by passing the rocky road with views of tea gardens.
Arriving in the village of LC you can continue the journey to the climbing route by starting to walk through the expanse of tea gardens, mountain climbing route kencana given the name Tanjakan Sambalado. From the starting point of climbing to the top of the mountain kencana takes about 1 hour and upon reaching the peak you can build a tent in the camping ground area of the peak of Mount Kencana.
If the weather is clear from the top of the mountain you can see the mount Gede - Pangrango and mount Salak, at night you can also see city light of Bogor city.
